About the Game's Creator

Around the World the Ultimate Global Board Game originated from the journey of travels that literally took the games creator, Stacy George, around the world. Starting in Hawaii, she traveled through Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and Malaysia on a quest to bridge the gap between cultural diversity and respect among the children of the world. Growing up in a bi-cultural home, Stacy had the advantage of visiting and experiencing the homelands of her parents - extending from South America to the Middle East. She quickly learned to appreciate and love the languages, exotic locations, and moreover the values and importance of all the beautifully varied cultural experiences she was privileged around the world.

As a child growing up in a suburb just outside of Cleveland, Ohio, Stacy George, was confronted by a reality wherein she was defined as different by the other children. Being brought up a bi-cultural kid in Ohio could proved to have been a difficult challenge for such a little girl, but Stacy's outgoing personality made quick friends, curious to learn about who she was and how her differences made her unique. Eager to share the various family traditions with fellow classmates, you could say that the groundwork for Around the World. The Ultimate Global Board Game had already been laid down.

Around the World became a project that has officially been evolving since 2002. Among many endeavors involved in the evolution of creating this wonderful board game, Stacy worked in immigrant and refugee communities, facilitated cross-cultural trainings, and created a French-immersion school for toddlers. Ultimately, these experiences led to discovering the need for resources to support the importance of global knowledge and awareness of the world in which we live.

Finally, in 2005 Around the World was created! After years of asking questions, traveling, researching and teaching, a game was envisioned and is now available to meet the needs of many a diversified market, including (but not limited to) school-age children-in and out of the classroom, adults looking to enrich their global knowledge, world travelers alike, schools and other educational and literacy programs, as well as businesses looking for other ways of understanding cultural diversity among the global market.
